About

C.A. Richards is inspired by the way light interacts with everyday items and reveals in them–and in the juxtaposition of them–a multitude of unexpected, transient worlds.

She draws upon her background in theatre to stage objects in relation to sun, shadow, and artificial light, finding drama in such disparate things as tarnished teapots and rusty chainsaw blades, or in the arrangement of simple, plexiglass blocks.

"For me, making photos is like a meditation, a way of stepping into the mystery of it all, a way of connecting with a force much greater than myself.   It nourishes and energizes me.  I hope you come away from my photos with a similar, positive feeling."

Her work has appeared in several national, juried exhibitions and has been shown locally in her hometown of St. Louis.
